We'd like to give a big shout out to Jane Mort and The Sentinel for the nice spread they gave us yesterday! Jane will give a Junque Journal workshop at Gallery 3West next month. See our Events page for details!

One of the hardest parts of putting together the Annual Student Art Exhibit is getting "the boards" (temporary walls). Each "board" is made of two oversized sheets of OSB connected with hinges. They are very heavy, and there are about 30 sets of them. Each year, we need to move them from our storage unit to the Lumina Center and set them up, and each year we ask for volunteers to help us so that we can continue to present student art. We would like to thank the following people who helped us with this monumental task: Bryson Wagner, Jenny Barron Landis, Matt Knepp, Ike Knepp, Doug Sipe, Sam Markley, Matt Gers, Ryan Taylor, Shawna Ridley, Vedra Wilt, and Savannah Wilt.
Jane Cannon Mort will lead a Junque Journal workshop in July. Junque journals are a great way to express your creativity, not only through writing, but through the creation of the journal itself! Check out our website for more details!
You'll notice some changes to our Wine & Paint workshops on the Events page. The topics for the June and July Wine & Paints will be announced at a later date, because the paintings are still in development.
Also, we are only accepting registration for the May workshops at this time. This helps us to avoid confusion to be be sure that we don't overbook for the number of seats we have. In most cases, if a workshop sells out, and if there is enough interest, we try to have another one on the same topic so that everyone gets a chance to come and play with us! We just posted several new workshops on our website - www.mifflinjuniataartscouncil.org - including writing, clothing repurposing, artist trading cards, and our ever-popular Wine & Paints! Feel free to check them out and let us know if you'd like to reserve a seat for any of them. We will also create Facebook Events for each workshop, provided they still have seats available. Keep checking back, because we have more workshops to post as soon as we hammer out the details!
